About the Work
Trilateral Pyramid: Green Tara Ascending is an interactive, performative sculpture that transforms from day to night.
The work is a meditation space honoring the deity Green Tara. With stitched, transparent fabric walls covered in oil paint and silkscreens of Tara and a cushioned, interior triangular platform, the pyramid functions as a translucent shade structure by day. At night, the pyramid is lit from within; and an indigo light beams from the pyramid's apex. The fabric walls shimmer both inside and out, as the pyramid becomes a glowing green-blue sacred space for solitude or intimacy.
Green Tara Ascending pays homage to Pyramid Lake, one of Earth's seven female chakra centers, adjacent to Black Rock Desert, Burning Man "Greening the Man" 2007.
