Viriditas means “greening power,” a word and concept created by Hildegard of Bingen, a 12th century artist, mystic, poet and prophet. Viriditas embodies the notion that nature, creativity and spirit are green, interconnected and divine. It can also be understood as the rejuvenating energy that humans receive in their physical and spiritual life force.
